The feelings of relief and happiness are evident on the faces of all who receive a Concerts in Motion performance.
Concerts in Motion provides private or group concerts performed by professional musicians as well as musically talented youth of New York City.
The professional musicians who perform for Concerts in Motion are compensated for their time, talents and service.
We rely on donations made by generous individuals as well as foundation grants from the Florence V. Burden Foundation, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, 21st Century ILGWU Heritage Fund and a corporate sponsorship from TD Bank.
Currently we serve patients of The Actor's Fund, Amsterdam Nursing Home, Atria Great Neck, Barrier Free Living, Carnegie East Senior Residence, Carter Burden Luncheon Club, Cooper Square Residence, Council of Senior Centers and Services, Covenant House, CV Starr Day Center, Davidson Senior Center, Dorot Friendly Visiting Program, Dorot's Lincoln House, Esplanade Senior Residence, Hamilton Madison House City Hall Senior Center, Hamilton Madison House South Bridge Towers, Heights and Hills, Hudson Guild, Isaac H. The vibration created when live music is performed acts as a life force that is not just heard, but felt in the bodies of all who receive it.
Recipients are reminded that they can still experience the pleasure of their bodies, hearts and minds through the healing power of music.
