CiM Pop-Up Concert at The Shops at Columbus Circle, October 2025

Concerts in Motion (CiM) provides uplifting musical concerts and conversation to isolated individuals. We also work to build community around this mission by recruiting local musicians and helping to bridge the gap between the needs within a community and its existing resources.

Thank you to The Shops at Columbus Circle for hosting us today!

Since 2009, Concerts in Motion has been proud to bring music and joy to the Upper West Side community! And we wouldn't be able to do this without our vibrant roster of professional and student musicians, many of whom live here, and YOU, the wonderful community of music-lovers and New Yorkers who love this city as much as we do! This concert is a way for us to share that love, and we welcome you to get to know us if we haven't met before. Please click on the QR code here to learn more about our programs and how we serve the Upper West Side.

Today’s Concerts in Motion Musicians

Oscar Oñoz’s latin folkloric trumpet style is featured on the BBC World Music Récord of the Year(2006) as well as recordings with the iconic Buena Vista Social Club. He has been featured on the big screen in “Requiem For A Dream” (2000) and on the recording of the musical “Havana on the Bay”(2002). You can even listen to his improvisational trumpet style registered at The Library of Congress, from various music festivals he has participated in.

Humberto Sanchez studied music in The National School of Art in Cuba. He is a composer, guitarist, and pianist, who has performed in Cuba and abroad for popular bands like "Acana." He has also composed several songs for the company "Teatro Estudio de Cuba," in which he wrote songs for theatrical pieces like the Shakespearean classic "Medida por Medida," and "Concierto Barroco" by Alejo Carpentier.

A very special thank you to Monica Rich Kosann, who serves on the Board of Directors of Concerts in Motion and helped to make today’s event possible. Monica Rich Kosann Jewelry is located right here in the Shops.
