CiM Pop-Up Concert at The Shops at Columbus Circle
Concerts in Motion (CiM) provides uplifting musical concerts and conversation to isolated individuals. We also work to build community around this mission by recruiting local musicians and helping to bridge the gap between the needs within a community and its existing resources.
Thank you to The Shops at Columbus Circle for hosting us today!
Since 2009, Concerts in Motion has been proud to bring music and joy to the Upper West Side community! And we wouldn't be able to do this without our vibrant roster of professional and student musicians, many of whom live here, and YOU, the wonderful community of music-lovers and New Yorkers who love this city as much as we do! This concert is a way for us to share that love, and we welcome you to get to know us if we haven't met before. Today’s Concerts in Motion Musicians
Tanesha Gary hails from Chicago, but resides in NY, where her Grammy-nominated choir, Broadway Inspirational Voices was honored with a 2019 Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre. Tanesha is a Recording Artist (original member of EarthGyrlz-Capitol Records), a Broadway, TV&Film Actor & Lover of Life. She has performed with Patti Labelle, Oleta Adams, Clay Aiken, Norm Lewis, Billy Porter, JT Taylor from Kool & The Gang, and Joe Scarborough of MSNBC just to name a few. Tanesha currently headlines both a Gladys Knight & Aretha Franklin Tribute show for Shadows of the 60s. She’s super excited to be a part of Concerts in Motion and can’t wait to continue blessing audiences through the gift of Music.
James Preston is both a Performer and a Studio Musician. He has performed on at least 21 stages in Europe and Africa. His recordings include the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Incognito, Kathy Sledge & Raheem DeVaughn. He received a Grammy nomination for his work. James realizes the importance of music and strives to bring the best and most appropriate music to each Concert. We hope you will enjoy his work.
A very special thank you to Monica Rich Kosann, who serves on the Board of Directors of Concerts in Motion and helped to make today’s event possible. Monica Rich Kosann Jewelry is located right here in the Shops.
